But, are they engaging with the audience to get their message understood, recalled and positively influence their audiences’ behaviour towards them?
If you’re pitching for a large contract, a client account or investment funding, the difference between success and failure, growing or flat revenues can come down to the vital cog in the communications process – your presentation.
The difference between in house and professional production is clearly noticed by your customers and stakeholders! With so much riding on the result of these events, it makes sense to consider things which increase your communications effectiveness and enhance your perceived capability and image.
So when you’ve invested thousands of man hours and made large investments to improve what you have to offer to customers, doesn’t it make sense to spend a tiny fraction more to ensure your prospects really understand what’s in it for them and act on it to your benefit?
That’s why it’s in your best interests to engage professional presentation design services provided by someone who in senior management positions crafted and delivered hundreds of presentations that won more business, launched new products and changed organisations for the better!
We produce well structured, winning presentations designed to help your audiences “buy in” to your message, remember it and act on it in your favour afterwards!
For dynamic presentations which offer compelling style and panache, why not give us a call and find out how competitive we can be!

Powerpoint Is Not Boring
PowerPoint per se isn’t boring, PEOPLE WHO USE IT BADLY ARE!
Powerpoint is very sophisticated software which 99.9% of people aren’t aware of!
PPT is used by professional preso designers in a MEANINGFUL WAY to make engaging, memorable & compelling COMPLEMENTARY visuals for occasions where slides can enhance presenter delivery!
PowerPoint is a much derided and misunderstood piece of software. In the hands of a PowerPoint craftsman, it is a very sophisticated communication tool.
When a professional PowerPoint producer deploys its full strengths, it can empower your delivery of engaging, memorable and compelling presentations which positively influence your audiences towards you!
In the right hands, it will do pretty much anything you want it to.
Good presentation design is borne out of an ability to plan, structure, craft and visualise your message yet convey it simply but powerfully using appropriate graphic and animation techniques.
No presentation platform be it Prezi, Keynote or PowerPoint will compensate for a shortfall in fundamental presentation design.
ADVICE FOR PRESENTERS
Remember that you are the presenter!
Sometimes you are your own best speaker support!
Sometimes your presentation needs support.
Speaker support including props, video, flip charts, the audience, white boards & slides should only be used as necessary, depending on the audience, speaker & material being presented.
Used appropriately, they can be a great aid to learning & post preso recall.
BUT treat speaker support like a group of backing singers ie complementary to your preso, not to be used as a visual crutch “what do I say next” prop or means to impress which is counterproductive.
And yes, use PowerPoint when appropriate to do so BUT use it properly!
BE AWARE OF LEARNING STYLES
When preparing your next presentation, please be aware that people learn in different ways ie visual, auditory & tactile/kinaesthetic.
Visual learners think in pictures & learn best from visuals including: diagrams, pictures, charts & videos.
Auditory learners interpret speech through listening to tone of voice, emotion, pitch, speed & other nuances.
Tactile/kinaesthetic learners learn best through moving, doing & touching.
LEARNING POINT – Presentation design should be compatible with the fact that people learn in different ways
In 1986, the Professor of Psychology at the University of California, Richard Mayer, published his paper called Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning.
Mayer splits the mind’s cognitive processing into 3 elements: dual channel, limited capacity & active processing.
Dual channel relates that people have separate information processing channels for visual material & verbal material.
Limited capacity means that people can pay attention to only a few pieces of information in each channel at a time.
Active processing means people understand presented material when they pay attention to the relevant material, organise it into a coherent mental structure & integrate it with their prior knowledge.
LEARNING POINT – Presentation design should be compatible with the mind’s cognitive processes
LOSE THE BULLET POINTS
In 2004, Cliff Atkinson, author of “Beyond Bullet Points” & Prof Mayer teamed up to provide a very helpful framework of principles based on cognitive research to guide presentation design:
– people learn better when material is organised with clear outlines & headings
– people learn better when information is presented in bite-size segments
– people understand a multimedia explanation better when words are presented verbally rather than using a lot of bullet points
– people learn better from WORDS & PICTURES THAN FROM WORDS ALONE
– people learn better when extraneous material is excluded rather than included
LEARNING POINT – Presentation design & use of speaker support material should be based on science & presentation context, not opinion
